Pewter is a unique metal alloy. Heavy, with a characteristic silvery shade and phenomenally durable. It is made from a combination of three metals - tin, which constitutes approximately 90% of the entire alloy, antimony and copper. Although it is flexible and malleable, few artists can transform it into refined small works of applied art. However, there is one person who has been creating unique decorations from this alloy for over 60 years. This is the Italian brand Cosi Tabellini Art of Pewter. Known not only in Europe, it delights with its unique designs. It breaks patterns and provides phenomenal artifacts that add a vintage and Art Noveau flavor to any interior.
Cosi Tabellini Art of Pewter – over 60 years of tradition
The tradition of making pewter products in Italy dates back to the early Middle Ages. This craft was specialized mainly by the inhabitants of Lombardy. And it was here, in 1954, that Bruno Cosi and his nephew, Sergio Tabellini, opened their small craft workshop. He began to create primarily pewter tableware, as well as various decorations. The unique craftsmanship and eye of the artist made the products made in the inconspicuous shop quickly gain popularity. Over the years, the small workshop turned into a large factory, and today the company is managed by the descendants of Cosi and Tabellini - Sergio's children. The company still has a family character. And it still focuses on manual production using methods bordering on craftsmanship and art. That's why their unique decorations are appreciated all over the world.
