Description
Wonderful design combined with the highest quality wood gives synonymity to the M'Art brand. It is also a registered trademark for handmade wooden pens that has been on the market for several years. M'Art's aim is to create a product capable of satisfying emotional needs and to rediscover the pleasure of owning an object of rare beauty on which it is pleasant to stop the eyes and hands. All handmade products are the result of meticulous market research of the best mechanisms to offer the customer the perfect pen and pen. The wood is chosen from those commonly used in brazing, characterised by exceptional hardness, beauty and elegance, and particularly suited to the production of elegant writing instruments. Each stage in the production of the handmade wooden pens is strictly manual and culminates in a thorough quality control. The result, as expected, gives you the joy of owning a 'unique' item, as you would expect from a handmade piece.
It is nice to look for woods of absolute value, carefully selected and sourced from all over the world. Identifying the different mechanisms of these writing instruments, which can synthesise weight and balance to make them pleasing to use, is very complex as well as rewarding. The creation of handmade wooden pens requires special skills and knowledge of techniques, raw materials and tools to reach the final product in a rather long process, and requires a very high level of attention. In the production of handmade pens, any small mistake, especially during turning, can mean losing a piece and having to start from scratch. Preparing wooden pens involves inserting a brass core, which represents the skeleton of the pen. Turning, finishing and assembly are the next stages of processing. Finishing is a particularly important phase, where the scratch resistance, opacity or gloss of the pen will be determined. At the end of the process, a meticulous quality control will be carried out.
INTELLIGENCE IN HAND
Each handmade M'Art pen is a jewel resulting from the harmonious integration of sought-after wood from all over the world, mechanisms of the highest quality, style and sobriety and a very high level of workmanship. From the meeting of these excellences, a unique and very elegant product is born M'Art's production includes a full range of wooden pen and pencil models, including fountain pens, rollerball pens, pens, gels and pencils with variable pitch and softness.
MARMURAL EFFECT LENSES AND PENCILS
Following the flattering results obtained in the production of wooden pens and pencils, the company has started a new and special craft production on the same models. These are hand-painted pens and pencils with a marble effect in 5 different colours depending on the marble chosen (orange, blue, grey, black, green). This process, very delicate in the making phase, turns out to be very durable and scratch-resistant after finishing. The artisan creates objects that are original and exclusive, of great beauty and never banal. M'Art is the Italian registered trademark for wooden pens and pencils that best represents the artisanal production of writing instruments, unique and recognisable objects.
The wood is the central element of M'Art's handmade pens and therefore its selection represents an extraordinary strength. The synthesis of painstaking research of natural essences from many parts of the world and the long and careful aging of this living, unique and versatile material, allow the creation of wonderful writing instruments. All in full respect of nature and the environment. Every step in the production of the handmade pens, from the turning to the engraving of the brand, is strictly manual. If we add to this great attention to detail and careful quality control, we get an extremely reliable product of unquestionable value, capable of satisfying the aesthetic taste of even the most demanding.
Exceptional gift box
If you have decided to give a wooden M'Art pen to a loved one or yourself, it means that you are expecting something special. Such a unique item requires equally unique packaging. The packaging is made of wood entirely by hand, lined and finished with high visual impact. It includes a writing instrument, a leather pen holder matching the type of wood the pen is made from and a parchment with a description of the properties of the wood it is made from. The trademark, like the entire production of 'M'Art' writing instruments, is made by hand, usually on the clip.
Each of the pens and pencils can be personalised with names or dedications, and can be engraved in italics or capital letters, in large or small letters on both the cap and the body of the pen.
Elegant pen and pencil made from your piece of wood.
Every person thinks back to moments that are special in their life. Very often they are connected to an object, a smell and a place. Often it is an old wooden table, a chair or a toy hidden deep in the attic. The manufacturer M'Art Penne has come up with something that eschews the usual, which is the creation of a pen, or a pen from your piece of wood. It is a nod to memories, but especially to objects that are special in our lives. Just send in a photo and the maker will assess whether you can make a fountain pen, rollerball pen or biros out of it.
The following describes the woods most commonly used for the production of M'Art craft pens.
They have been selected for their specific properties of hardness, beauty, compactness and seasonality, making them the ideal material for the production of writing instruments of exceptional quality.
Bubinga
Derived from equatorial Africa, more common in the countries surrounding the Gulf of Guinea. Despite being a very hard wood, it is easy to work with. Bubinga is widely used in violin making. Its colour varies from a rather light pink-brown to dark purple brown, it has a fine texture and is not very porous, often with visible veins.
Cocobolo
Grows in Central America from Mexico to Panama. Dark orange in colour characterised by dark brown veins. It is a rather difficult wood to work and glue due to its oiliness. It has more or less the same properties of stiffness and hardness as ebony and is widely used in brazing.
Heban
It is so prized among the precious woods that it has given rise to the name of furniture making, and in particular is used in brazing. It is black or very dark brown in colour. It is very dense and requires very slow seasoning, however. It is a very sought-after and very expensive wood depending on its rarity.
Macassar Heban
Originally from Equatorial Africa and Asia, it is a very dense wood, black or dark brown in colour, with more or less visible whitish or reddish veins or shades and a fine grain. It is very dense and requires very slow seasoning. It is a very sought-after and very expensive wood depending on its rarity.
Padouk
It is an African mahogany and looks very similar to heather, especially madrone heather. Figured Sipo Pomellè is an extremely hard wood that is distinguished by light streaks that give it colour and reflections that give it a cloud effect.
Pau Violeto
This is a wood with noble historical roots, of great beauty, widely used in furniture and luthiery. The heather has dark, varied and irregular veining and flecks. Very fine texture. Unusual hardness. Damaged and irregular grain.
Olive
It is one of the most valuable and expensive "local" woods. Brownish-yellow wood with lighter streaks and coloured with darker streaks. Very fine texture. Extraordinary hardness and excellent workability is used in many very high value productions.
