Sartori is an Italian manufacturer that was born in the heart of Veneto from a passion for good design with an old tradition of hand-woven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling beautiful rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, and then in 1920 a second one in Rovigo, for selling home furnishings.  In the 1950s, when the modern Sartori rug design started to become popular in Scandinavian countries, the brand picked up on this trend and developed the Italian market design for the whole world. These exciting rugs gained recognition globally, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.

In the 21st century, production and sales expanded to such an extent that it required the opening of a headquarters in China. An important project emerged in 2008. From the collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., a modern idea paved its way: using old rugs to create something completely new and give them a second life, in line with a fresh and young style. This is how the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, repainted, and sewn by hand. This results in a unique and very special rug, a synthesis of noble materials that perfectly fits contemporary environments and the needs of modern furniture.

Absolutely all our rugs are entirely handmade using high-quality noble materials and originate from projects developed in Italy, under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori.
