Philosophy and company image

Nomads, yet attached to their roots, the Ferro family, after the terrible plague of 1630, which decimated the local population, including glassmakers, returned to Murano and soon found themselves among the local notables as Deputies of the island, holding this prestigious position 27 times during the 18th century.

Belonging to the local productive and vital elite, the Ferro family became Gastaldi Major of the San Nicolò school, which gathers artisans and master glassmakers and directs the activities of the glassworks. Moreover, their coat of arms is engraved twice on the Oselle, a coin that the Venetian mint struck specifically for the Murano community.

As if representing their dual nature, the Ferro family coat of arms consists of an anchor, a symbol of stability and ties to the territory, and an indispensable tool of the comet during journeys and adventures at sea. From Leonardo Ferro, a skilled master, comes the Ferro Florian line, important glassmakers of the late 19th century, prolific and numerous, reaching to the present day, with glassworks bearing their name. The Yalos Murano brand, in line with the continuous research and experiments that have historically distinguished it in artistic glass production, proposes a new challenge: Murano glass sheets of various sizes, changing colours, numerous decorations, and unique and valuable combinations outdoors.
