Description

Beautiful design combined with a fascinating history is synonymous with the Maronese company.

The brothers Giovanni, born in 1941, and Iginio, born in 1942, were still boys when in 1966 they decided to establish, along with two other partners, Angelo and Bruno, the Maronese furniture factory on via Taglio in Maron di Brugnera.

It was Monday, 3rd October, the day when the four young men, with a capital of 2,000,000 lire, embarked on their adventure. These were years of great transformation, remembered today as the "good years," when the founders had big dreams and simultaneously great hopes for their realisation. A very close connection to the territory is the starting point for the Maronese story. In the 1960s, the Livenza region around Brugnera was rapidly changing, opening up to a new industrial structure. But the values remain the same as always, passed down from fathers to children from generation to generation: an incredibly strong dedication to work, an innate sense of duty, and a deeply rooted desire for development.

In this context, the initiative of the Polesello brothers and partners Copat and Billot found fertile ground, which would transform their entrepreneurship into a company of international renown. They were not involved in trade, but in transport, and thus began to understand the furniture industry and get to know the customers. They travelled all over Italy, from Sicily to Aprica, upwards towards Sondrio, and one day they said to themselves: why can't we make furniture ourselves?

The first furniture prototypes were created in the old building of one of the partners. There was enough time to complete the shed, and the company moved to a larger location, suitable for introducing machinery to meet the growing demand for production. The wives helped, some workers were hired, and "la Maronese" began to gain fame. In 1967, the first living room models were presented at the Salone del Mobile Italiano in Milan. This was just the beginning of a long success story that continues to this day.

The business does not start immediately; you have to make yourself known and showcase the product. Furniture manufacturers from Pesaro and Brianza were already established in large realities, while in the Pordenone area, furniture companies were just starting: to challenge the competition, production had to be excellent. Customers pondered every detail and first pulled out the drawers to see if they were made to perfection, or rather "dovetail". The furniture passed the quality test, was displayed in shop windows across Italy, and sold quickly.

The work grows, and with it, Maronese.

New expansions in the mid and late 80s are the visible and tangible effect of a company that constantly invests in technology, people, and quality, which never loses the courage that has always distinguished it from the very beginning. Those who know how to change something with the style of their collections. 1986 was a year of economic revival for the entire furniture sector, in Italy and abroad, and Maronese increased exports. Germany became the reference foreign market for years: ad hoc models were created to meet the functional and aesthetic requirements of a demanding clientele. In the busiest periods, especially during the 1995 boom, more than 38 trucks left the Maron warehouses every week. The experience, techniques, and knowledge gained over the years allow Maronese to openly face the world and prepare to handle the complexities of the 1990s.

The mid-1990s proved to be the ideal period to "show off," to communicate externally the image of a consolidated company, which, along with the other companies of the Group, now feels the need to share space within to express the concept of a complete home, always in tune with the spirit of the times. In Brugnera, a large space of 7,000 square metres was created, later expanded to 11,000 square metres, encompassing the entire production of the ATMA Group: the Poma showroom. A constantly updated scenographic path that captures the state of furniture, trends, and lifestyles through the proposals of individual brands. A place to connect with other companies in the group, but also with retailers, where events and meetings can be organised, where relationships can be nurtured.

The dawn of the new millennium brings with it significant changes and innovations; the world is increasingly interconnected, and language is global: in the furniture industry, living areas are becoming living spaces, lifestyle is transforming into a way of life, and trends dictate new trends. Maronese introduces the production of modernity with ACF: what is still missing and what allows Maronese to make another qualitative leap. Night and day. From a production centre in 2008, ACF became a brand: a reference reality for the development of a new idea of night and day design, which immediately stood out for its innovative approach to the product and the continuous search for new shapes and original finishes. Minimal aesthetics and compositional simplicity are perfectly integrated with the necessity for functionality and versatility, making interior furnishing solutions very current. In 2014, the classic-modern Maronese joins the contemporary ACF: Maronese ACF is born, a unique and great reality that breathes life into the new "Maronese house" project. A comparison of two generations, but above all, two generations that today walk the same path towards the future together. Maronese, the parent company of the ATMA group, currently occupies an area of 48,000 square metres. Continuous investments in structural expansion, technological innovations, and increasingly specialised human resources have allowed us over the years to build a solid yet dynamic identity. The bond with the territory and the people, but above all the strong bond of the Polesello family, is the leitmotif of this long history, which has been successfully continuing since 1966.
