Original design combined with volcanic lava gives us the image of the Valchida manufactory. La Mestra Ninfa, the owner of Ceramiche Valchida, is an art teacher, decorator, and also a painting conservator. The unique skill in decoration, especially figurative, makes her works one of a kind. Today, they are imitated by many, dedicated to lovers and connoisseurs of utilitarian masterpieces. All products are the result of the author's vast experience and craftsmanship. The story begins when the owner creates her first decorations on kitchen countertops, as well as asymmetrical sculptures. In her veins flows the blood of ancestors who were skilled craftsmen. For many generations, they were involved in tailoring, ironwork, and wardrobe production in a shoe factory. Thus, the entire policy of the Ceramiche Valchida brand is based on family tradition, which continues in these luxurious stone countertops.
The primary material used in production is lava stone, which is formed from escaping and solidifying magma from Mount Etna. It can be said that it is an eternal raw material and as fascinating as the whole of Sicily. The creation process begins with the delivery of whole blocks of lava, which are then processed and shaped according to customers' wishes. They are then subjected to a ceramization process at a temperature of 950 degrees. This makes them incredibly resistant to dirt, scratches, acids, water, frost, and sun, which is particularly important for outdoor use. Upon request, the manufacturer customises the dimensions, patterns, and shape of the countertops according to customers' wishes. Legs, frames, and supports made of metal, iron, or cast iron are suggested for the products.
Luxurious stone and ceramic countertops are hand-painted, with attention to every detail. Upon request, the brand creates patterns for individual customer projects.
