With a great passion for innovation and technical inventors, IWC Schaffhausen has established an international reputation. Since 1868, Swiss watchmakers have been creating haute Horlogerie masterpieces that combine precise mechanics with exclusive design.
In 1868, watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones founded the "International Watch Co." in Schaffhausen, away from the watchmaking centres of French-speaking Switzerland. His plan was to combine American production techniques with skilled craftsmanship.
And that is exactly what he found in Schaffhausen, ideal conditions: modern factory buildings, powered by the Rhine to run his machines with hydroelectric power and, finally, a centuries-old watchmaking tradition.
Today, as a premium brand in the segment of stylish international watches, IWC is committed to producing the highest quality products in Haute Horlogerie.
