Cuervo y Sobrinos: exclusive watches with a Latin soul
If there's a watch, it's only Swiss made. What if Swiss precision and artistic craftsmanship were spiced with a bit of Latin temperament, imagination and madness? This is how original, extraordinary timepieces are created that perfectly combine both worlds. We are talking about the Cuervo y Sobrinos brand, which has been recognized among lovers of artistic craftsmanship since the beginning of the 20th century.
Cuervo y Sobrinos: from Havana to Switzerland
How did this exotic Swiss-Cuban marriage come about? The history of Cuervo y Sobrinos begins in hot Havana, at the threshold of the 20th century. It was then that Armando Rio Cuervo opened a small watch factory, together with his nephews. The products of the Havana craftsman quickly gained fame, and from 1910 the brand proudly stamped its logo on watches. Ten years later, Cuervo y Sobrinos decided to also conquer the European market. And so the factory's representatives went to Germany, France, and finally to La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland.
In the 1950s and 1960s, a watch from Cuervo y Sobrinos was synonymous with luxury and precision in timekeeping. These timepieces were worn by, among others, Albert Einstein, Ernest Hemingway and Winston Churchill. After the political changes in Cuba, the brand ceased to exist for almost 50 years. A new era came in 2002, when the brand was born again in Europe - in Switzerland. Over the last dozen or so years, Cuervo y Sobrinos has remembered itself and once again aroused admiration for its luxurious but unique watches. All of them are still made based on traditional methods and refined in every detail.
Cuervo y Sobrinos watches – the quintessence of luxury
The best materials, Swiss-made, precise timekeeping mechanisms and a fanciful design that often breaks classic patterns - this is what makes wearing a Cuervo y Sobrinos watch a reason to be proud. This is a proposition for every modern man, but also for those who appreciate the vintage world.
