Established in 1919 by Syunchi Nakata, Platinum Pen Co. is renowned as a manufacturer of fine fountain pens. Platinum manufactures a huge range of exclusive writing instruments from maki-e fountain pens to hi-tech pencils, rollerballs and ballpoints. The company created the cartridge style ink for the first time in the world. By utilizing this technology, Platinum has been producing reusable products for several types of writing instruments such as fluorescent markers and ink markers for many years that do not have to be discarded after one or two uses so that they can also protect the environment and be Eco-friendly.
This pen is made from pure silver (925 Sterling silver;"925" is stamped at the end of the barrel) and hammer stone finishing by hand. After tapping with hammer, a craftsman uses liquid to rust and polish. So the pattern has two tone color and is quite beautiful. Name of the silver craftman is 'Junichi Iwamura' who is a traditional silver craftsman and this product is also specified by Japanese government. A nib is made from platinum and base is #3776. Cap is screw type.
