The combination of these two incredibly creative individuals brought a distinctive and fresh perspective to art. Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family traditions. By collaborating with outstanding artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a significant nod to family traditions and multi-generational manufactories. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian facade reflected in the lagoon waters provides vibrant material for new projects. Many of these elite mirrors are faithful reproductions of antique products. Ongaro & Fuga is part of Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – an important consortium that is a member of Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. For over twenty years, it has been working to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the millennia-old art of Murano glass. This is an extremely important initiative that does a lot of good for cultural heritage. Ongaro and Fuga are proud of the Promovetro certificate for producing their mirrors in Murano.

How are these famous mirrors made?

This is an extraordinary product in its essence. The reflection of this beauty is the result of very long work. The labor of hands, heart, and soul. For this reason, the outstanding mirrors of Ongaro and Fuga come at a price. The work put into them often exceeds 100 hours and can consist of thousands of decorative elements. This is true luxury and an example of how strong European family manufactories are. Here, for centuries, it has been the craftsmen who stood behind the evolution of the premium industry, deciding with their hands the final appearance of the product. Everything starts with a drawing on paper. Then the glass is slowly adapted to the shapes. Using very delicately and smoothly diamond grinding stones.
