Odegard Carpets employs the highest quality standards in its production. This is not only due to selecting top-class materials but also through a significant ecological awareness that influences the complex process of product creation.
The company launched in 1987, revolutionising the traditional world of weaving craftsmanship. It often chooses Himalayan wool for production, which comes from the fleece of local sheep. These sheep graze at altitudes over 4,200 metres above sea level, and their wool is rich in lanolin. This unique feature makes OC wool rugs more resistant to dirt.
The saturated shades are the result of manual processing and dyeing. The rug creators, seeking inspiration, draw from Venetian materials, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many designs are inspired by the shapes of tropical leaves or the hues of the sun setting over the Himalayan peaks.
All the company's rugs are handmade from highly selected silk yarns and Himalayan wool. The wool dyeing process is 100% natural, using only organic materials (nuts, roots, or saffron), while maintaining the highest quality.
