The French brand Toison d'Or was established in 1954. It began with the production of double-sided woollen blankets and Scottish blankets made from noble and natural materials for the general public. It formed numerous collaborations with fashion designers (Courrèges, Pierre Cardin, and Guy Laroche), which quickly established its position as a leader in the exclusive blanket market in France.

In 2005, Toison d'Or expanded its range to include beautiful duvets, pillows, and also fancy bedspreads.
