The manufactory mainly focuses on designing and creating umbrellas with an extensive collection of patterns, styles, and handles. These are individual masterpieces of functional art, entirely produced in Italy, in a unique sector, distributed in the finest boutiques worldwide. In the countryside of Mantova, there is still someone who continues to produce handmade luxury umbrellas and exports them to every corner of the world, using a brand that will soon celebrate its 65th anniversary: Pasotti. This Italian brand stands out for its creativity and consistent search for materials, exclusively Italian: including enamelled brass handles, Swarovski® crystals, noble silk fabrics, as well as magnificent decorations.

“The company was founded in 1956,” explains the owner, Mrs Eva Giacomini, “it was established by her mother Ernesta Pasotti, who started producing unique umbrellas, selling them directly, sometimes riding a bicycle. Then, with the current owner’s father Vittorio, who mainly dealt with sales, the company grew from a small artisan workshop to a large one, employing over a hundred workers. Today, there is no longer room for such large-scale industrial production, so the brand has downsized and focuses mainly on exclusive limited edition umbrellas. Annually, it produces 40,000 handmade umbrellas: these are very high-quality products, sold in the most prestigious boutiques in 75 countries. 93% of our turnover is abroad, mainly in Europe, North America, Russia, and China. Besides the Pasotti collection, the company prides itself on a range of private label collaborations with the most global fashion brands.”

And the foreign market is truly expanding, thanks to Nicola and Andrea Begotti, the next generation, who participate in the most important fashion weeks and invest heavily in online networks, thus increasing brand recognition.
