Exclusive design combined with a fascinating history make the Maronese brand synonymous.

The brothers Giovanni, born in 1941, and Iginio, born in 1942, are still boys when, in 1966, they decide to set up with two other partners, Angelo and Bruno, the Maronese furniture factory in via Taglio in Maron di Brugnera.

It is Monday, 3 October, the day the four young people with a capital of 2,000,000 lire begin their adventure. These are the years of great change that are remembered today as the "good years", ones in which the founders had big dreams and, at the same time, great hopes of realising them. The close relationship with the territory is the starting point of the Maronese story. In the 1960s, the Livenza region around Brugnera was changing rapidly, opening up to a new industrial structure. But the values are the same as ever and the fathers pass them on to their children from generation to generation: an incredibly strong dedication to work, an innate sense of duty and a deep-rooted desire to develop.

In this context, the initiative of the Polesello brothers and partners Copat and Billot finds fertile ground to turn their entrepreneurial spirit into an internationally renowned brand. They were not involved in trade, but they were involved in transport and that is how they began to understand the furniture industry and get to know their customers. They toured the whole of Italy, from Sicily to Aprica, up towards Sondrio, and one day said to themselves: why can't we make furniture ourselves?

In the old building of one of the partners, the first furniture prototypes are being made. There is enough time to complete the shed and the company has moved to a larger location, suitable for introducing machinery to meet the growing demand for production. Wives help, some workers are hired and 'la Maronese' begins to make a name for itself. In 1967, the first saloon models are presented at the Salone del Mobile Italiano in Milan. This is only the beginning of a long success story that continues to this day.

Business doesn't start immediately, you have to make yourself known and show the product. The Pesaro and Brianza furniture makers are already constructed in big realities, while in the Pordenone area the furniture companies are just starting out: to challenge the competition, the production has to be perfect. Customers consider every detail and first take out the drawers to see if they are made to perfection or rather 'dovetail'. The furniture passes the quality test, is displayed in shop windows in Italy and sells quickly.

The work is growing, and with it Maronese.

The new expansions in the mid to late 1980s are the visible and tangible result of a company that constantly invests in technology, people and quality, that never loses the courage that always sets it apart from the start. Who knows how to make a difference with the style of its collections. 1986 was a year of economic recovery for the entire furniture sector, in Italy and abroad, and Maronese increased its exports. Germany became a reference foreign market for years: ad hoc models were created to meet the functional and aesthetic requirements of a demanding clientele. During the busiest periods, especially the 1995 boom, more than 38 trucks leave Maron's warehouses every week. The experience, techniques and knowledge acquired over the years allow Maronese to openly face the world and prepare to deal with the complexities of the 1990s.

The mid-nineties turned out to be the ideal time to 'show off', to communicate outwardly the image of a consolidated company which, together with the other companies of the Group, now feels the need to share space in an interior that is meant to express the concept of a complete house that is always in tune with the times. At Brugnera, one large room of 7,000 square metres is being created and then enlarged to 11,000 square metres to encompass the entire ATMA Group production: the Poma showroom. A constantly updated scenographic path that photographs the state of furniture, trends and lifestyles through the proposals of the various brands. A place to network with other companies in the group, but also with retailers, where events and meetings can be held, where relationships can be nurtured.

The arrival of the new millennium brings great change and innovation, the world is increasingly interconnected and the language is global: in the furniture industry, living areas are becoming living areas, lifestyles are turning into lifestyles and trends are dictating new trends. Maronese introduces the production of contemporaneity with ACF: what is still missing and what allows Maronese to take another qualitative leap.

Night and day. From a production centre in 2008, ACF became a brand: a reference reality for the development of a new idea of night and day design, which immediately stood out for its innovative approach to the product and its constant search for new shapes and original finishes. .

Minimal aesthetics and compositional simplicity are perfectly integrated with the need for functionality and versatility, making interior furnishing solutions highly relevant. In 2014, the classic-modern Maronese joins the contemporary ACF: the Maronese ACF is born, a unique and great reality that breathes life into the new "Maronese house" project. A comparison between two generations, but above all between two generations that today are walking together along the same path towards the future.

Maronese, the parent company of the ATMA group, currently occupies an area of 48,000 square metres. Continuous investment in structural expansion, technological innovation and increasingly specialised human resources has allowed us to build a solid but dynamic identity over the years. The bond with the territory and the people, but above all the strong bond of the Polesello family, is the leitmotif of this long history, which has successfully continued since 1966.
