The Italian brand Mepra was founded in 1947, but the entrepreneurial history of the Prandelli family begins many years earlier. In 1901, the brothers Bortolo, Francesco and Giovanbattista set up the first Prandelli family business in the Lumezzane Valley on the banks of the Gobbia River to harness the kinetic energy of water to make machinery work.

The Mepra company was created in 1947 by the Prandelli brothers. The first factory producing 18/10 stainless steel cutlery was established in Lumezzane. Over the following generations, the Prandelli family has been actively involved in pursuing this passion. The brand's products can be found on the tables of the world's most prestigious hotels and restaurants.
