Description

The incredibly original design combined with the highest quality materials epitomises the Rudolf Kämpf manufactory. It is a tribute to true porcelain, which has been admired for centuries and reflects a love for beautiful objects.

The Czech porcelain manufactory Rudolf Kämpf has been producing high-quality hard porcelain for over 100 years, which significantly differs from bone china currently produced by many European companies. This includes features such as durability, resistance to temperature and acids, impermeability, translucency, and a ringing sound. Another distinctive feature of the Rudolf Kämpf factory is the preservation of craftsmanship. While most manufacturers now rely on automated processes, the Rudolf Kämpf porcelain manufactory relies on manual work to offer high-quality products. Rudolf Kämpf is the only factory in the Czech Republic where porcelain is made by hand. This also involves the exclusivity of the production. The Rudolf Kämpf porcelain manufactory usually produces limited series or unique pieces. You will surely agree that such an approach ensures a high value for the collection of porcelain products.

Rudolf Kämpf believes that its greatest asset is its high-quality experts. Thanks to talented masters, the Rudolf Kämpf brand boldly ventures into creative experiments and effortlessly transitions from Romanesque style, through Art Deco, to Futurism. Therefore, Rudolf Kämpf's production is not only refined but also distinctive.

It is no coincidence that Rudolf Kämpf brand porcelain products attract the attention of celebrities. The company is proud that its clients include not only important figures from Russian-speaking countries but also fashion designer Pierre Cardin and many others. The luxury production of the Rudolf Kämpf brand often serves as a gift for high-ranking individuals. For example, unique gift vases from Rudolf Kämpf have been dedicated at various times to such important figures as the 42nd President of the USA, William Jefferson Clinton (in 1994), the First President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Havel (in 1996), King Harald V of Norway (in 1997), and Pope John Paul II (in 1998). A hand-crafted vase depicting Napoleon Bonaparte was presented by the Rudolf Kämpf porcelain manufactory in 2008 to the National Army Museum in Paris.

Given that Rudolf Kämpf's concept is not only exclusive porcelain sets, vases, and other interior items but also more affordable products, the manufactory exists under different brands, namely:

Rudolf Kämpf - luxury handmade porcelain

LEANDER - high-quality porcelain for both handmade and industrial production for general use

Leander-fresh - high-quality porcelain produced by hand and industrial production focused on modern contemporary design

Custom Production - Design Your Own Collection

The company's second hallmark is individual projects for specific clients. The Rudolf Kämpf porcelain factory is capable of executing any demanding projects, including creating collections in a single piece, with the client obtaining rights to this collection for 50 years or longer. Owning an exclusive custom-made porcelain collection is a luxury in itself. However, if the porcelain item bears the logo, monogram, or family crest of the owner, it is also a sign of special status. Therefore, business and political leaders, celebrities, and even rulers from around the world often turn to Rudolf Kämpf.

Upon completion of such a unique porcelain item, the client will receive a factory certificate with a guarantee that the item will never be made for anyone else. Such unique collection pieces complement table decoration or serve as sophisticated interior decor. Rudolf Kämpf porcelain, made according to a special design and marked with a gift sign or monogram, can also serve as a luxurious gift for a loved one. If you have any questions regarding exclusive single porcelain items, articles with logos, crests, gift inscriptions, please contact us.

History

The Czech village of Loučky (until 1918 - Grünlas, since 1961 part of the town Nové Sedlo), where the Rudolf Kämpf porcelain factory is located, lies in the heart of the Karlovy Vary region. The tradition of porcelain production developed in this area thanks to deposits of high-quality kaolin. The Rudolf Kämpf porcelain factory, with its over 100-year history, is part of this tradition. In 1907, American Benjamin Franklin Hunt obtained permission to build a porcelain factory. In 1909, the porcelain factory was sold to two Rudolfs - Dieterle and Kämpf, who in 1911 founded the company Porzellanfabrik Rudolf Kämpf G.m.b.H., Grünlas and chose a crown with the three letters RGK (Rudolf - Grünlas - Kämpf). This established a factory producing first-class porcelain tableware and hand-painted porcelain accessories. Thanks to its exceptional location, the factory had not only high-quality raw materials but also the opportunity to export porcelain products. The porcelain production technology at that time certainly differed from the previous methods (raw materials were transported by horse-drawn carts, from railway wagons, etc.), but its quality was already excellent, so Czech porcelain products from the Rudolf Kämpf brand began to be exported to countries renowned for porcelain, such as Germany, France, Hungary, England, etc. Rudolf Kämpf died in 1918, and his share was divided between his widow Josefine Kämpf, daughter Antonia Kümmelmenn, and son Hans Kämpf, who began running the family business. In the 1920s, the Rudolf Kämpf porcelain factory experienced a real boom: production reached over 2 million products annually, and exports accounted for about 85%. The company was one of the first to start producing porcelain in a new colour range, in pink, blue, green, and also in ivory. The Second World War meant a gradual reorientation towards Germany for the factory and the loss of other foreign clients. After the war, the Rudolf Kämpf porcelain factory was nationalised and became part of the Czechoslovak state-owned concern Slavkovský porcelán, and later the state enterprise Karlovarský porcelán. In the same year, the company had the honour of representing the Czechoslovak porcelain industry at the World Fair in Montreal, Canada. The incredible success on the world stage led to an influx of investments, which allowed it to acquire the latest equipment. It was then that the Rudolf Kämpf factory began producing the famous sets made from the Mary Anne (Jiří Laštovička) and Sabin (Aleš Trpkoš) moulds. In 1992, the Rudolf Kämpf porcelain factory became the property of the Czech company Leander 1946 s.r.o. and was named Leander. The Leander porcelain manufactory became famous worldwide as a producer of decorative porcelain adorned with hand painting and often embellished with gemstones. Since 2006, the company acquired a new owner, the Czech holding CS Investment, which restored the factory to its founder's name - Rudolf Kämpf.
