Chassis 3729GT was delivered in 1962 to the great British racing team owner John Coombs and driven by the most distinguished drivers in the 1962 and 1963 seasons, including Roy Salvadori, Graham Hill, Mike Parkes, Mike McDowell, Mike Salmon, Jack Sears, and Richie Ginther. Coombs also promoted the right-hand drive 250 GTO campaign on world-renowned tracks such as Brands Hatch, Goodwood, Silverstone, Mallory Park, Snetterton, and so on.

Subsequently, it was briefly raced by its new owner, Viscount Portman, before being retired from contemporary racing. Among its subsequent owners was its original driver Jack Sears, who kept chassis 3729 from 1970 until selling it to the current American owner. M-251 is none other than chassis 3729GT, which on 18 August 1962, Graham Hill raced to the finish in 2nd class OA and 2nd GT at Goodwood with starting number 10.
