Description

The magnificent Ceramiche ML collections are handcrafted and decorated with respect for tradition and principles of work that are primarily artisanal. Plaster moulds filled with liquid clay, hand assembly, freehand painting: a production process and know-how that have been passed down through the years, with roots reaching back centuries. This is what creates a true multi-generational manufactory, producing more than just prestigious products. Because these are works of applied art, made from ceramics. Dedicated to all connoisseurs and aficionados of stylish interior accessories.

The Ceramiche ML Brand Concept

Vehicles inspired by the Baroque era, rich ancient Greek temples, soup tureens, tables, panels, art deco style figures and Roman chariots: all these items belong to the vast Ceramiche ML model, which is a fundamental distinguishing feature. It is the result of continuous investment in their artisanal and cultural heritage. These were realised over fifty years ago by modellers who are no longer with us: the aim is to preserve items of invaluable historical and artistic value. Because this heritage is a testament to good old craftsmanship! Luxury ceramics have always been highly sought after by the most discerning consumers from around the world.

A bit of history

Both founders, Luciano and Marilena Tellatin, began their careers in the pottery industry at just sixteen years old and decided to start their own company after years of working as employees in two different antique factories. In the garage of their home, and later in a shed, in 1982, the founders began a story that continues to this day. Deep passion and dedication are the elements with which the founders govern the brand, supported by young entrepreneurship, namely their son Alberto. He joined his parents in the company in 2000, after obtaining a degree as an art teacher at the Art Institute of Nove: he represents the future of the brand, which still has much to offer its customers and partners.

With over 30 years of experience, the elegance of the collections, the harmony of forms, respect for work that is primarily craftsmanship and ancient labour, and finally, the endless investment in the artisanal heritage of Nove antiques: these are the qualities that have made Ceramiche ML exceptionally unique, dynamic, respecting ancient pottery traditions, but with an enthusiastic approach to the future.

The city where it all happens is located in the province of Vicenza. This place has been recognised as one of the best examples of Italian ceramic tradition since the sixteenth century: a land adorned with artisanal knowledge, artists, sculptors and ancient factories known worldwide. The Nove and Bassano region is full of old manufactories whose work has contributed to building the fame of the ceramic district, adorning the furniture of homes around the world.

The history of this place tells of a very long tradition rooted in the 17th century, and its fortune is owed to numerous factors: the presence of underground plastic clay, "lottame" (limestone with a high content of siliceous minerals) and kaolin, and the ability to use the Brenta River for transporting finished products and wood for kilns, but also for powering water mills. These are used for mixing clay and grinding pebbles found at the riverbed.

Another factor favouring the birth of the prestigious ceramic tradition in this region was the decree of the Venetian Senate. In fact, in the 17th century, the growing and increasingly widespread demand in Europe for beautiful ceramics from China prompted Dutch ceramists to imitate these works, thus flooding the Venice market with their products. For this reason, in 1728, the Venetian Senate decided to increase domestic production with tax relief for those who decided to produce porcelain and improve majolica production, thus managing the birth of the ceramic district in Nove.

The production area of the district remains focused on the municipalities of Nove and Bassano, which are surrounded by a dense network of companies that have contributed to the renown of this region worldwide, with qualities of excellence and uniqueness that cannot be found in other parts of Italy.
