Their leather is hand-picked, tough and durable full grain cowhide that is beautiful, durable and tanned using a traditional and natural vegetable tanning process. Faced leather is considered the strongest and most durable type of leather. It is designed to be moisture-resistant and to look more and more beautiful over time. Jekyll and Hide adhere to principles and practices that demand respect for animals and the environment, allowing them to produce luxury leather collections. That is why they do not use any harmful chemicals in the tanning process.

Permanence is in their DNA. So, when they considered how to contribute to the future of our planet, they looked inwards and decided to apply their inner ethos to a sustainable vision. Most of the goods they produce are stylish leather goods. That won't change, but today they are paying more attention to how to do things differently.

 
RECYCLING MATERIALS

In line with their sustainability statement, the brand has started the process of replacing all their fabrics with 100% recycled material from used plastic bottles. To date, they have recycled and diverted more than 95 000 used plastic bottles from landfills and oceans.

The SPEKBOOM PROJECT

The company has teamed up with a dynamic indigenous nursery to help and offset its carbon footprint by growing and maintaining Spekboom. This proud South African wonder plant is one of the most effective plants in the world at removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. For this project, Jekyl has secured his own hectare of land and plans to grow around 6,000 plants in 2020.
