Description
The inspiration for the Roccantica model came to Janis Provizor during a trip to Umbria. It was then that the co-founder of Fort Street Studio decided to experiment with the possibilities offered by the simple and beautifully straightforward structure of lines. The company's other co-founder, Brad Davis, suggested that she translate her adventure into a carpet design, named after the town where Janis spent her Umbrian holiday.
The carpet is made of 100% wild silk, with a knot density of 120 knots. The highest quality silk yarns and threads, meticulous colour matching, and a completely new approach to dyeing are the main strengths of Fort Street Studio. The company's carpets are always masterpieces of the highest calibre, a synergy of artistic power and functional aesthetics.
Fort Street Studio is a company created by two artists – Janis Provisor and Brad Davis, who decided to transplant their love of art into the field of interior design. Before they devoted themselves to creating their own brand, their works were exhibited in places such as the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum, and Albright Knox Gallery.
Thanks to the creativity and skills of the pair, a brand unlike any other was born – based on extraordinary, imaginative patterns and selected materials. Fort Street Studio – the company's name comes from the street where the artists lived – has been setting new trends in interior design since 1997. They have showcased their products at fairs in Paris, London, and Milan, and in 2010 they collaborated with the French department store Hermès.
