About the artist:
Leszek Sokół was born in Warsaw in 1955. He graduated from the Warsaw High School of Fine Arts. In 1983, he obtained a diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw at the Faculty of Interior Architecture. Since the mid-eighties, fascinated by 17th-century Dutch painting, he dedicated himself to still life. Referring to the technique and atmosphere of the old masters, he created his own recognizable style. In the early nineties, he embarked on a new creative path that combines elements of metaphysical realism in its theme and atmosphere. In 2005, he became a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. When asked about the genesis of his work, he says: my painting is a joyful world. A world of memories, our desires and elations from youth, as well as dreams and carefree times from childhood. Hidden from everyone when we are already adults, it is the world we often long for.
His works have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions both in the country and abroad.
Currently, he exhibits his works in galleries in Poland and the USA.
