High-quality porcelain combined with a prestigious history is synonymous with the Seltmann brand. Founded in 1910, the company "Porzellanfabriken Christian Seltmann" (Seltmann Weiden) transformed into a group of enterprises by acquiring the "Königlich Privierte Porzellanfabrik Tettau" (Königlich Tettau) along with four specialised porcelain manufacturers and an art department established between 1990 and 1995 as a family business. In five plants, around 800 employees produce exquisite porcelain for households, hospitality, and social catering. Another aim is the production of particularly original figurines and gifts.

Thanks to the Königlich Tettau porcelain factory (the oldest porcelain factory in Bavaria), the Seltmann Group has over 200 years of experience in porcelain production. The famous naturalist Alexander von Humboldt fought for the establishment of the manufactory. This took place in 1794 by virtue of the privilege of King Frederick William II of Prussia.

An even longer tradition of porcelain craftsmanship (almost 250 years) can be found at the site of the oldest continuously producing porcelain factory in Thuringia in Rudolstadt / Volkstedt. The "Oldest Volkstedter Porcelain Manufactory" was expanded in 2007 to the "transparent porcelain manufactory," and four factories with an art department in Volkstedt were combined "under one roof." Quarzsandwerke Weissenbrunn is a supplier of high-quality raw materials and finished masses for the ceramics industry and is also part of the capital group.

As one of the few porcelain manufacturers operating worldwide, the Seltmann Group possesses exceptionally broad know-how in production: from high-tech production in one of the most modern porcelain factories in Europe to pure craftsmanship in the factories (location Rudolstadt / Thuringia). In addition to the ever-expanding specialised fields of hospitality / gastronomy, mass catering / collective nutrition, and incentive programmes, the Seltmann group of companies primarily targets families in the domestic porcelain industry, who usually place great importance on a wide range of goods that can be purchased later.
