In June 2004, in London, Laban won an award in the prestigious Coveter Lewis&Clarke competition, which saw participation from over 75 pen and pencil manufacturers. The finalists included Montblanc, Omas, Namiki, and Laban. It is worth mentioning that companies outside the European continent rarely win the Coveter Lewis&Clarke award.
