Luxurious book-candy box in baroque style - Bruno Costenaro

Amazing creativity in ceramic design and a stylish approach to the handmade finishing of every single product is the hallmark of the Italian company Ceramiche Bruno Costenaro. Each item labelled "B.C." is meticulously produced following all the steps necessary to achieve the perfect product, shaped and finished to high quality. Every piece is modelled according to instructions personally dictated by Bruno Costenaro, reflecting his taste, the taste of his clients, and market trends. After the first model is produced, moulds are made for the production of the final products. This marks the beginning of the long-term process of manufacturing this attractive ceramic. 

It all began when Bruno Costenaro, born in Bassano in 1940, started learning the secrets of ceramics. He was thirteen at the time and worked in companies in Marostica and Cassola. At the age of twenty, he decided to create exclusive Italian ceramics himself, first with two partners in the town of Vallonara, and then independently in the town of Pianezze. 

Over the years, demand for his products grew, and the brand moved to Molvena. Initially, small-scale production took place in the basement of his new residence, but after many setbacks, he built a workshop adjacent to his home, where he still works today. This shows that family-run workshops are thriving and creating true luxury. The strength of the workshop was remarkable, thanks to its level of creativity, innovation, interest in export, and the company's ability to overcome crises in this business sector, providing employment over the years to around seventy collaborators, whom Costenaro taught the trade: among them his children, who continue the business. 

On 26 March 2000, Bruno Costenaro received the honorary title of master craftsman of the province of Vicenza; in tribute to his exemplary conduct both personally and professionally, distinguished by his commitment to work and generosity in passing on techniques and values to future generations. To date, the Ceramiche Bruno Costenaro workshop has had the advantage of being one of the most prestigious ceramic factories in the area, always looking to the future, conducting research to satisfy its customers by providing them with high-quality artistic products. 

What is the process of creating this luxury ceramic like? 

Each piece of ceramic from the mould is then hand-finished. It is lacquered using the "a bagno" method (dipping), according to the colours chosen by the client (for example: white, black, ruby red, cobalt blue, emerald green), and then fired at a temperature of 1020. 

At this temperature, the lacquer makes each item resistant and transparent. Finally, each piece is entirely hand-finished, thanks to the skills of Italian decorators who achieve refined details in gold and platinum. Fired at a temperature of 600 \ 700 degrees, the final product is obtained, delicate in craftsmanship and carefully finished in every detail. After polishing, each piece is marked, and then a quality certificate from the factory is placed in a small package. The products are packed in cardboard boxes using a modern packing machine that creates soft cushions wrapping the delicate items. 

Thanks to this modern packing method, there is never a problem with damaged goods or broken items. However, all the cardboard boxes are contained in a euro pallet (width 80 cm x depth 120 cm), making the goods safer and eliminating the issue of missing items. Upon the product's arrival, the client can attest to the quality of the received product, having purchased an item from Ceramiche Bruno Costenaro. 

Today, the workshop has expanded to include: gifts, complete series consisting of central elements, baskets, vases, picture frames, ashtrays, plates, lamps, columns, cachepots, mirrors, panels, candlesticks, clocks, tables, and swans.
