Sartori is an Italian company that was born in the heart of Veneto from a passion for good design with an ancient tradition of hand-woven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling stylish rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, followed by a second in Rovigo in 1920, for selling home furnishings.  In the 1950s, when the innovative Sartori rug design started becoming popular in Scandinavian countries, the brand embraced this trend and expanded the Italian market design to the whole world. These exciting rugs gained recognition globally, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.

In the 21st century, production and sales expanded to such an extent that it required the opening of headquarters in China. A very important project emerged in 2008. From the collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., an innovative idea paved its way: using old rugs to create something entirely new and give them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. Thus, the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, repainted, and sewn by hand. This results in a unique and very special rug, a blend of noble materials that perfectly fits into contemporary environments and the needs of modern furniture.

Absolutely all our rugs are entirely handmade using high-quality noble materials and originate from projects developed in Italy, under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori.
