Round candy box from the early 19th century with double decoration on the lid and bottom featuring small wildflowers painted in white, red, and yellow, surrounded by an outer pattern of flowers and leaves. The box is made entirely of cardboard, with two brass rings at the ends and printed, gold cardboard ribbons on the edges. The decoration is fixed using the fixé sous verre method, meaning under glass. The interior is divided into several compartments to hold a variety of sweets. France, early 19th century.
