Amelia Augustyn (born in 1989) is a graduate of the Jan Długosz Academy in Częstochowa (now the University of Humanities and Natural Sciences). In 2014, she received a degree in Painting (with distinction) in the studio of Dr. hab. Włodzimierz Kuleja, Prof. UJD, and Dariusz Słota (drawing annex). "My Red" is a continuation of a series of small-format, abstract paintings. The psychological impact of colour holds particular significance for the artist; in her latest series, she leans towards intense hues and strong contrasts. To achieve this, she eagerly uses unconventional media – industrial-type paints, which have become an integral part of the painting process. "My Red" measuring 30 x 25 x 1.5 cm was painted using a mixed technique (acrylic, enamel) on cotton canvas. The work was created in 2019. It is signed in the lower right corner: A. Augustyn. When arranging, it is worth considering factors such as the size of the room (it should not be too large) and the character and colour scheme of the decor (the painting is best suited to a modern, minimalist interior).
