The history of the Rosa family and the glass workshop

"Since I was a child, glass has always fascinated me; I easily learned the 'secrets' and techniques of glass production and the art of the masters of the best furnaces in Murano. The passion and vast experience gained over many years, continuous research into beauty and perfection, the ability to transform glass into wonderful art… This is what I passed on to my sons: the love for the Art of glass…

Gathered in this passion, we decided to develop and propose our own collections of chandeliers, wall lights, and other furnishing elements; all entirely handmade according to the ancient tradition of Venetian glass art…”

Carlo Rosa

Carlo Rosa is a glass master with over 50 years of experience in this fascinating art. When he was a young boy, he began attending the most renowned furnaces in Murano and learned the craft; this is the beginning of his story in the 'world of craftsmanship'. When he was 9 years old, he visited these important furnaces and lost himself in the world of artistic production, which truly fascinated him. His practice began when he was 12 years old; and his fascination developed among important furnaces with names like Barbini, Ferro Lazzarini, Galliano Ferro, Paoli. Thanks to his natural abilities and manual skills, he stood out with valuable works. He is a 100% true artist who has always dedicated his time to designing and producing new Arctic glass, practising and creating glass engravings, painting, and music. The great passion of Master Carlo Rosa has been passed on to his sons Denis and Omar, who have been part of Vetreria Artistica Rosa for many years.

For us, it is really important that you understand that over time technology has changed and evolved, but the tools we use every day are actually the same, like the 'irons', which have always been used since the birth of this ancient tradition.
