Description

Unbelievably stylish design combined with the highest quality materials give the image of the Rudolf Kämpf manufactory. It is a nod to genuine porcelain, which has been inspiring admiration and a love of things beautiful for centuries.

The Czech porcelain manufactory Rudolf Kämpf has been producing high-quality hard porcelain for more than 100 years, which differs significantly from the bone china currently produced by many European companies. Among other characteristics, such as strength, temperature and acid resistance, impermeability, transparency and ringing sound. Another special feature of the Rudolf Kämpf factory is the preservation of the craftsmanship. While most manufacturers nowadays rely on an automated process, the Rudolf Kämpf porcelain manufactory relies on manual work to offer high-quality products. Rudolf Kämpf is the only factory in the Czech Republic where porcelain is made by hand. This also entails the exclusivity of the production produced. The Rudolf Kämpf porcelain manufactory usually produces limited series or unique pieces. You will certainly agree that this approach ensures the high value of the porcelain product collection.

Rudolf Kämpf believes that its greatest asset is its high-quality experts. Thanks to its talented master craftsmen, the Rudolf Kämpf brand boldly treads the path of creative experimentation and moves freely from Romanesque to Art Deco to Futurism. This is why Rudolf Kämpf's production is not only sophisticated but also distinctive.

There is a reason why Rudolf Kämpf porcelain products attract celebrity attention. The company is proud that customers include not only important personalities from Russian-speaking countries, but also fashion designer Pierre Cardin and many others. The luxury production of the Rudolf Kämpf brand is often used as gifts for people of high rank. For example, unique gift vases from Rudolf Kämpf have at various times been dedicated to such important personalities as the 42nd US President William Jefferson Clinton (in 1994), the First President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Havel (in 1996), King Harald V of Norway (in 1997) and Pope John Paul II. (w 1998). One handmade vase depicting Napoleon Bonaparte was donated by the Rudolf Kämpf porcelain manufactory in 2008. National Army Museum in Paris.

Because the Rudolf Kämpf concept is not only exclusive porcelain sets, vases and other furnishings, but also cheaper products, the manufactory exists under different brand names, namely:

Rudolf Kämpf - luxury handmade porcelain.

LEANDER - high-quality handmade and industrial porcelain for general use

Leander-fresh - high-quality handmade and industrially produced porcelain geared towards modern contemporary design

Customised production - Design your own collection

The second hallmark of the brand is individual designs for specific customers. The Rudolf Kämpf porcelain factory is able to realise any demanding projects, including creating collections in a single piece, with the customer obtaining the rights to the collection for 50 years or more. Having an exclusive porcelain collection, made to order, is a luxury in itself. However, if the porcelain product bears the logo, monogram or family crest of the owner, it is also a sign of special status. This is why Rudolph is often approached by business and political leaders, celebrities and even rulers from all over the world.

After making such a unique porcelain piece, the customer will receive a factory certificate with a guarantee that the item will never be made for someone else again. Such peculiar pieces of the collection complement the table decoration or will serve as a sophisticated decoration in the interior. Rudolf Kämpf porcelain, made to a special design and bearing a gift mark or monogram, can also serve as a luxurious gift for a loved one. If you have any questions about exclusive individual porcelain products, articles with logos, coats of arms, gift inscriptions, please contact us.

History

The Czech village of Loučky (until 1918 - Grünlas, since 1961 part of the town of Nové Sedlo), where the Rudolf Kämpf porcelain factory is located, lies in the heart of the Karlovy Vary Region. The tradition of porcelain production developed in this area thanks to deposits of high-quality kaolin. The Rudolf Kämpf porcelain factory, with its more than 100-year history, is part of this tradition.

In 1907, the American Benjamin Franklin Hunt obtained permission to build a porcelain factory. In 1909, the porcelain factory was sold to two Rudolfs, Dieterl and Kämpf, who founded Porzellanfabrik Rudolf Kämpf G.m.b.H., Grünlas in 1911 and chose the crown with the three letters RGK (Rudolf - Grünlas - Kämpf). This led to the establishment of a factory producing first-class porcelain tableware and hand-painted porcelain accessories. Thanks to its unique location, the factory not only had high-quality raw materials, but also the possibility to export porcelain products. The technology of porcelain production at the time was certainly different from what it had been (raw materials were brought in by horse-drawn carts, from railway carriages, etc.), but the quality was already excellent at the time, so Czech porcelain products from the Rudolf Kämpf brand began to be exported to countries famous for their porcelain, such as Germany, France, Hungary, England, etc.

Rudolf Kämpf died in 1918 and his share was divided between his widow Josefina Kämpf, daughter Antonia Kümmelmenn and son Hans Kämpf, who started running the family business. In the 1920s, the Rudolf Kämpf Porcelain Factory was booming: production reached more than 2 million products a year and exports accounted for around 85%. The company was one of the first to start producing porcelain in a new range of colours, in pink, blue, green and also in ivory.

The Second World War meant a gradual reorientation towards Germany and the loss of other foreign customers for the factory. After completion, Rudolf Kämpf's porcelain factory was nationalised and became part of the Czechoslovak state concern Slavkovský porcelán and later the state enterprise Karlovarský porcelán. In the same year, the brand had the honour of representing the Czechoslovak porcelain industry at the World Fair in Montreal, Canada. The incredible success of the world show led to an influx of investment, making it state-of-the-art equipment. It was then that Rudolf Kämpf's factory began producing the famous sets made from Mary Anne (Jiří Laštovička) and Sabin (Aleš Trpkoš) moulds.

In 1992, the Rudolf Kämpf porcelain factory passed into the ownership of the Czech company Leander 1946 s.r.o. and was named Leander. The Leander porcelain manufactory became world-famous as a producer of decorative porcelain decorated with hand-painting and usually decorated with precious stones. Since 2006, the company has acquired a new owner, the Czech holding company CS Investment, which has restored the factory to the name of its founder, Rudolf Kämpf.
