This is the original set of seven knives by Berti Knives. The handles are made from olive wood.
The times we live in are marked by increased consumption. Therefore, the items we use daily hold no value for us other than their utility. Over the years, we often fail to show them the sentiment they deserve, replacing them with newer models.
In complete opposition to this state of affairs is the philosophy of Berti Knives, a company producing exceptional knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small workshop seems entirely autonomous from the trends that have prevailed worldwide over the years. Its most important guiding principle is a commitment to tradition, which is currently upheld by the fourth generation of these Italian craftsmen.
The founders of the brand are firmly opposed to the idea of mass production by unskilled labour, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the products offered. For this reason, the company's philosophy places great emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are indeed welcome, provided they bring elements consistent with the existing idea and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike the competition, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialised sections of craftsmen but are often completed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials - the blades are made from steel, while the handles are made from buffalo, bison, deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
The brand owners encourage that their creations, although intended for everyday use, be treated with the respect that ensures their long-lasting durability. Each one is, after all, a small, unique work of art.
